Croatian basketball player Ivica Zubac scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds, but his excellent performance did not help the LA Clippers, who were defeated on the road by the Phoenix Suns with 115-102 in the only game played in the NBA last night.
In 27 minutes, Zubac hit eight of 14 shots from the field and made seven of eight free throws, and had two assists, two steals and two turnovers.
The team led by Tyronn Lue was on this visit significantly weakened because there was no James Harden in the lineup, due to personal reasons, as well as the injured Kawhi Leonard.
Along with the Croatian center, he is the only one in the starting five Derrick Jones had a double-digit performance with ten points. Among the bench players, the most successful were Cam Christie with 17 points, John Collins with 13 and Bogdan Bogdanović with 12 points and five assists.
The best in the winning team were Jalen Green with 29 points and Devin Booker with 24 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
The guests had minimal advantage at halftime (51-48), but Phoenix “exploded” in the third quarter, in which Otto Jordan’s players scored as many as 40 points and conceded only 23, breaking the game.
After their third straight loss, the LA Clippers dropped to 3-5 and are in 12th place in the NBA’s Western Conference standings. Phoenix, with its third win in its last four appearances, climbed to ninth place with a 4-5 performance.
