Europe should further increase military consumption, associate resources into common defense projects and buy more European weapons, according to the EU’s plan presented on Wednesday, which was encouraged by the fear of Russia and suspicions in the future protection of the United States.
The EU Executive Body presented its security strategy “Readiness 2030”, with the threat of Russian aggression in the center of concern. According to the estimates of NATO intelligence services, Russia could be capable of a new attack on Europe within three to five years.
According to this strategy, Member States will be encouraged to procure most of their military equipment in Europe, cooperating mainly with European suppliers – in some cases to reduce prices and accelerate orders. The purchase of equipment outside Europe should only be performed when costs, performance or delay in delivery decisive factors.

Kallas emphasized that the Russian economy is in the “complete war regime”, with 40 percent of the federal budget intended for the army.
