During a friendly match between the national teams of Denmark and Ukraine, football player Christian Eriksen experienced a medical incident in the 65th minute, when he collapsed on the pitch, which caused an immediate stoppage of play and concern in the stadium.
The medical team reacted within a few seconds and helped him on the field, and the intervention lasted about ten minutes. After that, Eriksen came to his senses and, with the applause of the crowd, left the field on his own.
The match was stopped shortly after the incident in the 79th minute, while the players of both national teams formed a circle around him during the medical intervention, as a sign of support and solidarity.
The Danish team’s doctor, Morten Boesen, also spoke about the incident, confirming that Eriksen was conscious after receiving help.
According to him, Eriksen briefly lost consciousness but quickly recovered and is in stable condition and in contact with the medical team and the hospital.
This event reminded again of a similar situation in 2020, when Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during a match of the Danish national team, after which he successfully recovered and returned to professional football.
