On Thursday morning, about 10:07 am, the school bus of Bluestar who transported students from high school Barton Peveril landed from the road to Rijeka in Eastleigh.
There were 20 people at the time of the vehicle accident, ie. 19 students and drivers. Five people were hospitalized, of which two with heavier, but stable injuries.
“It is not yet known why the bus landed from the road. The investigation is underway,” the Inspector An Andy Tester from the Hampshire Police. “I can only imagine how terrible experience of children and drivers this was.”
According to emergency statements, “numerous resources, two helicopter units, five emergency room vehicles and technical rescue teams were immediately sent to the field. More persons, including the driver, was temporarily trapped in the vehicle, but everyone was successfully evacuated.
Some students managed to pull out themselves from the busy bus, while others were waiting for help. About 14 people with lighter injuries been inspected and disposed of on the spot.
