Hamburg had a two-goal advantage by the end of the first half. Philip Otele scored in the 19th minute and Albert Sambi Lokonga in the 38th. The visitors pulled away in the 45th minute as Felix Nmecha missed a penalty. One of Dortmund’s best players failed to hit the goal post from the penalty spot.
In the second half, there was a turnaround, and Niko Kovač changed the penalty taker. Ramy Bensebaini was given that responsibility. He scored twice from the penalty spot in the second half from two attempts.
