Jokic’s left leg extended and then gave way after teammate Spencer Jones’ right leg hit him in the left knee.
Jones defended Jamie Jaquez’s drive towards the basket, while Jokic was behind them. After a strong collision with a teammate, Jokić fell to the floor holding his knee. With the help of his teammates and with painful grimaces, he left the field, to which he never returned.
Dr. Evan Jeffries, an expert on injuries to basketball players, shared on Xu, as he points out, “a video that gives the best angle of Jokić’s injury”, and added: “Based on that, it seems to me that there are two options. The best is that Jokić experienced hyperextension. The worst is that he tore the knee ligaments.”

Based on the mechanism the concern would be for
-Best Case Scenario: Hyperextension/Bone Bruise
-Worst Case Scenario: ACL tear

In the first case, Jokić will have a break of about a month. The season ended for him in the second. More will be known after Jokić undergoes a magnetic resonance examination today.
Nikola Jokić suffered an injury in the middle of a season in which he is excelling. Basketball fans are used to top games, but this season he stands out even by his highest criteria. Jokić averages 29.9 points per game with 60.4 percent shooting success, 12.4 rebounds and 11.1 assists, reports Index.hr.
Jokic is carrying the Nuggets this season. Basketball experts point out that Jokić not playing until the end of the season would mean that Denver can say goodbye to the playoffs.
On the official Nuggets profiles on social networks, fans are invited to pray for Jokic and his health.
Shortly after the injury, the first call to prayer was published on Denver’s profile on Xu: “Circle of prayer: Jokic is ok,” the post reads, along with a graphic representation of a prayer for the irreplaceable player.
