The opposition in Albania continued anti-government protests, and the last gathering in Tirana was marked by clashes and heightened tensions, reports Anadolu.
The Democratic Party of Albania, with the support of other opposition parties, organized a protest demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the formation of a technical government.
The protest started in front of the Government building in the capital, where the leader of the Democratic Party and former Prime Minister Sali Berisha were present, along with opposition representatives.

There were no official addresses during the gathering, while the protesters later continued to move through the streets of the city.
The situation became tense when the police prevented the gathering in front of the state ministries. After that there was an intervention by the police, including the use of tear gas and water cannons.
Part of the protesters used pyrotechnics, including fireworks and Molotov cocktails, which further intensified the clashes near the Ministry of the Interior.
A large number of police officers were hired to secure the protest, while some roads in the center of Tirana were blocked during the demonstration.

The opposition parties said that they will continue with the protests until their demands for political changes and the formation of a transitional government are met.
