Civil protection teams in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis continue efforts to retrieve the bodies of Palestinians trapped under the rubble after Israeli attacks, while the Gaza Strip remains under blockade, Anadolu reports.
The bodies of those who died in the attacks and remained buried under the collapsed buildings during the war are being searched for by civil protection teams using heavy machinery.
Remains found after a long time under the rubble, including severed body parts and bones, are collected for later identification.
Since October 2023, Israel has killed almost 70,700 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, and wounded more than 171,000, while almost completely destroying the enclave.
According to the latest data from the Gaza Government Media Office, the conflict led to the complete destruction of 268,000 residential units, of which 148,000 were severely damaged to the point of unusability, and 153,000 were partially damaged.
A ceasefire agreement brokered between Hamas and Israel on October 10 last year halted major military operations. However, reports say Israel continues to carry out demolitions in areas under its control, and the Israeli military has been accused of hundreds of violations of the agreement, including bombings and killings.
