Charles now escalated his actions against Andrew, stripping him of all his titles, leaving him known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said that Andrew had been served with formal notice to give up the lease on his Royal Lodge villa on the Windsor estate, west of London, and to move to alternative private accommodation at the Sandringham estate in eastern England.
The decision by the king, who is still receiving regular treatment for cancer, marks one of the most dramatic moves against a member of the royal family in modern British history, Reuters reports.
