Italian skier Federica Brignone became the Olympic winner in the super giant slalom at the Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina.
On the Olympia delle Tofane track, which is 2105 meters long, the 35-year-old Brignone passed the track for 1:23.41bringing a local celebration to Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Silver was won by a French woman Novel Miradoli with 41 hundredths behind, while the bronze was won by the Austrian Cornelia Hütter with 52 hundredths behind Brignone. For Brignone this is first Olympic goldafter she won silver in the giant slalom and bronze in the combined in Beijing 2022, and she also won bronze in Pyeongchang in 2018. She was a two-time world champion, and now she experienced the peak of her career in front of her home audience.
The best skier from Bosnia and Herzegovina Elveda Muzaferia she finished 17th, two seconds and 44 hundredths behind.
The race was marked by numerous withdrawals, including World Cup leader Sofia Goggia and reigning Olympic downhill champion Breezy Johnson.

Yesterday, Swiss Franjo von Allmen won the gold in the men’s super-giant slalom, making him only the fourth alpine skier in history to win three golds in one Olympic event at these Games, joining Toni Sailer, Jean-Claude Killy and Janica Kostelić. Janica was last able to do this at the ZOI in Salt Lake City in 2002.
