Basketball players Bosnia achieved an important victory in the first match of the semi-finals of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Championship, defeating Sloboda in Tuzla, with a score of 73:66.
The Sarajevo team thus took a big step towards qualifying for the finals, given that the semi-final series is played over two games, and the overall goal difference decides who will go to the finals of the championship.
Bosnia opened the match better and had a five-point advantage after the first quarter. The home team managed to catch the connection by the time they went to rest, so it was 32:31 for the visitors at halftime.
The key was the third quarter, in which the “Students” once again gained a significant lead of six points, which they kept until the end of the game. Sloboda failed to seriously threaten Bosnia’s lead in the end.
The most effective player in the winning team was Petar Kovačević with 15 points, while Miralem Halilović added 11. Sani Čampara stood out for Sloboda with 20 points.
The second leg will be played on Monday in Sarajevo.
In the second semi-final, Široki and Igokea meet tonight.
