Bosnia BH Telecom basketball players suffered another defeat in the 3rd round of the regional ABA league. In Sarajevo’s Zetra Hall, Budućnosti from Podgorica was better with a score of 91:82, although “Students” brought uncertainty into the game in the last quarter, which seemed decided at the start of the second half.
The Bosnia team opened the match solidly, played solidly in defense and even took the lead at the very beginning. The first quarter was extremely ineffective – at one point the score read 9:7 for the home team. However, after the visiting team’s time-out, Budućnost played much more confidently and by the end of the first part managed to take a lead of 18:16.
The second quarter brought a complete decline in the home team’s game. Bosnia scored only five points in the first eight minutes, which the guests used to significantly increase their lead. At halftime, the score was 42:25 for Buducnost, and at the beginning of the third quarter, the advantage grew to a huge 48:25.
However, the “Students” did not give up. By the end of the third quarter, they reduced the gap to 63:46, and then in the last part they played a great series and got closer to only eight points difference (70:62).
The closest they managed to get was 72:66, but a technical foul awarded to the home team broke the match in favor of Budućnost, which again gained a double-digit advantage and kept it until the end.
This is Bosnia BH Telecom’s third consecutive defeat in all competitions, and a new opportunity to end the negative streak is already on Tuesday, October 21, when they will host Spain’s Murcia in Zetra as part of the FIBA Europe Cup. After that, on October 25, there will be a new ABA league duel – the opponent will be Cedevita Olimpija, also in Sarajevo’s Zetra.
