Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Staša Košarac, Minister of Trade and Tourism of the Republika Srpska Ned Puhovac, Minister of Ecology and Tourism of the Federation of BiH Nasiha Pozder and representatives of the Indirect Taxation Administration (ITA) of BiH agreed on the coordination of activities on the issue of tax treatment of accommodation reservation services through global foreign platforms.
The Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska announced that the platforms “Booking”, “LookTrip”, “Airbnb” and other digital services are in question.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Jahorina Economic Forum, with the aim of regulating the business of global platforms for booking accommodation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an emphasis on reducing the gray economy and ensuring equal treatment of all accommodation renters.
During the meeting, the representatives of the ITA BiH informed the attendees about the activities and communication with global platforms that operate on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of establishing a clearer regulatory and tax framework for this area.
It was pointed out that it is in the interest of all institutions that the business of global platforms, as well as users of their services, be introduced into the domestic regulatory framework in order to reduce the gray economy and ensure equal treatment of all accommodation renters, according to the announcement.
The interlocutors agreed that the continuous cooperation of the competent institutions is necessary, and for the next period the coordination of activities on this issue was agreed, with the aim of improving the transparency of business and regulating the market, writes Acts.
