JP Highways of the Federation of BiH submitted data to the federal representative Admir Čavalić about the planned opening of new sections of the highway in the Federation of BiH in 2026.
Namely, in addition to the sections of the highway that were opened at the end of 2025, JP Autoceste FBiH plans to open the following sections/subsections of the highway in 2026, namely:
Section AC Tunnel Putnikovo Brdo 2 – Medakovo, from the Usora interchange to the end of the section in Medakovo, 7.2 km long, where technical acceptance and after that putting it into traffic is expected very soon.
AC section Medakovo – Ozimica, the entire section from the Medakovo interchange to the Ozimica interchange, 21.6 km long. The section should be completed at the end of this construction season.
The remaining part of the AC Nemila – Vranduk section, 2 km long, the part from Nemila to the end of this section, the first part has already been put into traffic at the end of 2025. This section of the highway will be completed at the end of this construction season.
AC Vranduk – Ponirak section, 4.8 km long, should also be completed by the end of this construction season.
AC section Ponirak – Vraca (Zenica tunnel), 3.4 km long. The works on this section have been completed, preparations for technical acceptance are underway, however, the release into traffic will await the completion of the other sections on the stretch Petlja Zenica North – Nemila, which is planned for the end of this construction season.
The rest of the section AC Tunel Zenica – Donja Gračanica, so-called. The northern section, from the Zenica tunnel to the Zenica north interchange, with a length of 0.65 km, has also been completed and preparations are underway for technical acceptance, and it is expected to be put into traffic, as in the previous case, by the end of this construction season.
This plan envisages the opening of a new approximately 40 km of highway on Corridor Vc and is conditioned by the necessary financial monitoring of the construction, according to Autoceste FBiH.
“This is especially emphasized considering that in the last few years there has been instability in the world (current war events are an example) and a general increase in costs, which have a direct impact on the increase in the unit prices of works, resulting from the increase in the prices of materials, labor, fuel, equipment and other resources that participate in construction costs, and which are calculated on construction sites through the contractual mechanism of the so-called sliding scale”, explained Autocest FBiH.
