Regular flights will resume with 29 additional take-offs and landings planned for strike-affected passengers on Wednesday.
The airport operator announced that around 80,000 passengers are expected to travel on Thursday, and that day will be normal for traffic.
Around 2,000 employees at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (FBB) went on strike on Wednesday, including staff from the fire service, air traffic control and terminal management.
Therefore, it was deemed impossible to maintain flight operations, although other areas such as ground handling services and security checks are handled by service providers.
“All passengers were notified in time by their airlines and did not come to the airport at all,” said the FBB spokeswoman.
“Flights have been rebooked or alternative travel arrangements have been offered,” she added.
According to the operator, about 445 flights with about 57,000 passengers were affected.
Verdi, one of Europe’s largest unions, is negotiating with the FBB, seeking a 6% wage increase or at least 250 euros ($287) for staff under a new collective agreement that will be valid for 12 months.
The union also insisted on an additional day off for union members.
During the second round of negotiations last week, employer representatives presented an initial offer that Verdi said did not go far enough.
