English football legend David Beckham will get a star on the familiar Hollywood Walk of Fameon the eve of the start FIFA World Cup which will be hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
Beckham’s name plate on Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles will be unveiled at a ceremony on June 12, ahead of the tournament’s first match on US soil between the US and Paraguay, which will be played that same evening in nearby Inglewood.

From English talent to global star
During his extremely successful club career, Beckham achieved his greatest successes in Manchester Unitedwith whom he won six English league titles and a trophy UEFA Champions Leagueincluding the historic Triple Crown in 1999.
Later he performed for the European giants Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germainas well as for the American club LA Galaxy. He played 115 games for the England national team and appeared in three world championships.
After the end of his playing career in 2013, he became a co-owner of the American club Inter Miami CFwho brought in the Argentine star Lionel Messi and won the MLS championship last year.
