Referring to the EU Crisis Provisions relating to national security, the three-member government coalition published that temporarily freezes all rights for members of the families of people who have been granted asylum in Austria.
“The capacity of Austria and its system to receive people with borders,” the government said the government with Chancellor Christian Stocker from the National Party (OVP).
“Because of the huge inflows of people, these systems are already at full capacity or have already exceeded their capacities.”
Critics believe that human rights are violated by a decision.
“It is not a good sign when the mandate begins with a clear violation of relevant international law,” said Chelnica Amnesty International Austrije Shura Hashemi.
