Investigators said the perpetrators falsely accused their victims for pedophilia. “None of the victims were pedophile,” Joachim Huber said, Deputy Police Leaders in the Federal Province of Styria.
Investigator Michael Lohnegger said that 15 suspects, 12 men and three women, used false identities on social networks in order for at least 17 people, mostly men, lure in isolated places. Several masked individuals then attacked the victims, the investigator said. The works were filmed, and recordings divided online.
Police said the perpetrators became more brutal. The suspects, between the ages of 14 and 26, include 11 Austrian and one German, Croatian, Romanian and Slovak citizen, said police. Investigators assume that the number of victims is significantly higher than it was recorded. In the hearings of the homes, they found weapons and nazi items.
