A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck southern China’s Guangxi region on Monday, killing two people and collapsing 13 buildings, state media reported.
The earthquake struck the city of Liuzhou in Guangxi at 12:21 local time, China’s state news agency Xinhua reported.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a slightly lower magnitude of 5.0 degrees.

State-run China Central Television (CCTV) said the dead were a married couple — a 63-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman.

A 91-year-old man, who was previously reported missing, was found after a search and rescue operation and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities have evacuated more than 7,000 people from the affected area, CCTV reports.
