The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina gave consent to accept a grant of funds in the amount of 79m euros for the construction of the new MEDAKOVO – Ozimice section, as part of the Corridor VC, one of the country’s most traffic links.
It is a part of the Modern Highway project in the north of BiH, a total length of 35 kilometers, which will significantly improve traffic connection, reduce travel time, and further encourage the economic development of the region.
Grant funds, which are secured from the European Common Fund for the Western Balkans, are the result of the Grant concluded in 30. December 2024. in Sarajevo and Luxembourg between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The Government of the Federation of BiH, with this Decision confirmed that the project documentation is acceptable, all formal conditions were created for the start of project implementation. The Federal Ministry of Finance, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the FBiH motorway, the Federal Ministry of Finance and Communications, are in charge of the implementation of this project.
Stock Medakovo – Osimice is an important step towards the completion of the full profile of Corridor VC, which is considered a key connection within BiH, but also with the countries of the region and the European Union.
Funds from this grant will not require additional allocations from the Budget of the Federation of BiH, and all further procedures will be implemented through substitution agreements and subcontracts between the Federation of BiH and the Signature of the Federal Minister of Finance.
The decision shall enter into force on the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH.
