Taekwondo club “Sarajevo” competitor and representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ada Avdagić achieved an outstanding result at the senior G2 tournament “Bulgaria Open” which was held in Sofia.
At one of the world’s strongest tournaments, in which around 1,700 competitors from all over the world took part, Avdagić won the bronze medal in the category of senior women up to 53 kilograms in extremely tough competition.
As the third seed of the tournament, Avdagić was free in the first round. In the second round, she won against a competitor from Greece with a score of 2:1. In the third round, she was convincing against the representative of Serbia (2:0), and with the same result in the quarter-finals, she also defeated a competitor from France, securing her place in the semi-finals.
In the fight for the final, she met with the representative of Italy, and the match was decided in the very end. Despite an extremely fighting performance, Avdagić was defeated by a score of 2:1 in the last seconds of the match, and thus was stopped one step from the final.
By winning the bronze medal, Ada Avdagić won valuable new points for the world and Olympic rankings, thus continuing the continuity of successful performances on the international stage.
Already next weekend, Avdagić is expecting a new challenge – an appearance at the G2 tournament Slovenia Open in Ljubljana, where he will have the opportunity to gain new points and confirm his top form, announced the Taekwondo club Sarajevo.
