A NATO military plane owned by Turkey lost control today and crashed over the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. A search and rescue operation is underway, but there is currently no information on casualties or the possible cause of the accident.
– One of our C-130 military cargo planes, which took off from Azerbaijan towards our country, crashed on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. In cooperation with the Azerbaijani and Georgian authorities, a search and rescue operation was launched – the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on the X network on Tuesday.

Turkish authorities have not released further details about the cause of the accident or any casualties, and it is not yet clear how many crew members were on board, the Daily Mail reports.
According to Turkish media, the accident happened in the Georgian region of Rustavi, about 160 kilometers from the Russian border.
The plane apparently disintegrated in mid-air, according to footage posted online – parts of the wreckage were visible as it fell to the ground. A powerful explosion occurred at the crash site in Georgia.
A criminal investigation has been launched in Georgia, and the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs will gradually inform the public about the details of the event.
As the Daily Mail reports, the C-130 is one of the most widely used and longest-lived military transport aircraft in the world.
