A revolution in warfare: Turkey’s AI drone can operate without a GPS signal

It is a combat unmanned platform that has an operational range of more than 1,000 kilometers and can stay in the air for more than seven hours.

The name Mizrak comes from the Turkish language and means spear, and the system was developed for deep operations on the ground, as well as for long-term reconnaissance missions with the possibility of precision strikes.

The drone will be available in two variants. The first is a heavy-hitting configuration with dual 40-kilogram warheads, while the second uses a single 20-kilogram warhead with a radio frequency seeker for more accurate target detection.
The platform has a wingspan of four meters and a maximum take-off weight of 200 kilograms.

It is equipped with exchangeable electro-optical and infrared cameras that enable reconnaissance operations in different conditions.

Mizrak can fly up to a height of 10,000 feet and reach a speed of about 185 kilometers per hour. It is designed so that it can take off from standard runways, but also from uneven or improvised terrain thanks to the rocket-assisted take-off system.

A special feature of this system is an advanced autopilot based on artificial intelligence, which enables operation even without a GPS signal.

Thanks to optical guidance and visual positioning, the drone can independently navigate, identify and attack targets even in conditions of electronic jamming.

The line-of-sight communication range is up to 80 kilometers, and the system is fully integrated with Baykar’s other combat drones such as Bayraktar TB2, TB3 and Akinci, which enables networking and real-time data exchange.
