The Greek island of Santorini hit three earthquakes this morning, according to the data of the Geodynamic Institute in Athens.
The first earthquake of Magnitude 4.2 was recorded last night at 22:55 Local Time, Second Strength 4.5 at 01:08, while the most powerful, magnitude 5.1, registered just before 10 am, states BBC.
The epicenter of the last earthquake was 18 kilometers east of Fire, the capital Santorini, and the trembling of the soil was felt in the wider area of Atika, including the capital Greece, Athens.
These earthquakes are part of continuous seismic activities that lasts from 26. January 2025. year, during which more than 16,900 earthquakes were reported more than one degree per level by Richter’s scale.
Due to the continuation of seismic activities, on several islands in the region, including Santorini and Amorgos, a state of emergency that will remain in force until March 14.
