A new Collective Agreement on the rights and obligations of employers and workers was signed today at the Institute for Public Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after successful negotiations and with the prior approval of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The contract was signed in Mostar by the authorized representatives of the representative trade unions, Admir Korman on behalf of the Health Workers’ Union of Sarajevo Canton (Basic trade union organization of the Institute for Public Health of the FBiH), Nina Topčić from the Independent Union of Public Health Workers Mostar, and Adnana Dizdarević Maksumić from the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of Sarajevo Canton (Subsidiary of the Institute), while the contract was signed by the director of the Institute Siniša Skočibušić on behalf of the employer.
The implementation of the new Collective Agreement foresees an increase in the salaries of employees in the Institute compared to the previous period, announced the Institute for Public Health of the FBiH.
The Director of the Institute Skočibušić stated that the signing of the contract is the result of continuous social dialogue and multi-year efforts to improve the working environment.
“Increasing the net hourly wage directly improves the economic security of workers, but at the same time implies full responsibility in the execution of work tasks. This contract represents a solid foundation for the continuation of social dialogue and further improvement of workers’ rights,” said Skočibušić.
Union representatives pointed out that the signed contract represents a continuation of the process of strengthening the rights of employees through a partnership relationship with the employer.
Nina Topčić emphasized that the Collective Agreement clearly defines the rights and obligations of employees, and opens up space for improving the financial position of workers and more stable working conditions.
Admir Korman pointed out that the contract ensures fairer working conditions, harmonizing salaries with the increase in the cost of living, as well as regulating allowances and other material rights, and can serve as a model for the systematic regulation of labor and legal relations in the public health sector in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Adnana Dizdarević Maksumić assessed that the signing of the contract was the result of the joint efforts of employees and management, stressing that the workers through union representatives actively participated in its creation.
