The shocking moment when a huge sinkhole swallowed the entire canal in a terrible collapse that happened around 04.00 am has been filmed.
The stunning video, which has been viewed more than 131,000 times, captured amid the chaos shows a ship tipping over a sinkhole and a tree breaking in the Llangollen Channel in Whitchurchin Shropshire.

He was awakened by loud noises as the sinkhole opened about 18 meters away. Bob Wood, 75, was asleep when his ship was eventually sucked towards the sinkhole.
“I was in the boat, I was sleeping and I thought I had to go to the toilet so I got up and thought ‘we’re leaning over a bit’.” He continued: “I opened the back door to see why we were leaning and realized it wasn’t raining at all, it was water running off from under the ship.”
Two narrow boats were seen falling into the sinkhole and remaining at the bottom of the canal, and another was seen hovering over the edge. The bank of the canal eventually collapsed, resulting in a large amount of water rushing over the surrounding land, reports the Mirror.
