An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale hit the Hindu Kush region in northeastern Afghanistan this evening, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) announced, reports Reuters.
The earthquake hit the city of Faizabad at 23:33 local time.
The depth of the earthquake’s epicenter has not been determined, but it is assumed to have been shallow.
So far, no information has been published about victims and possible material damage.
