The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced today that 1,029 people were killed in Israeli attacks since March 2, reports the Lebanese agency NNA.
The ministry added that 2,786 people were injured in those attacks.
Among the dead were 118 children, 79 women and 40 health workers, according to the statement.
Lebanon has been targeted by Israeli attacks since March 2. Israel claims it is attacking strongholds of the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement and that it killed a Hezbollah commander and two other members in an airstrike today.
The attacks are part of a broader crisis in the Middle East that began on February 28 when US and Israeli forces launched airstrikes against Iran, which responded with attacks on US presence in the region.
