The new NBA season did not start well for Ivica Zupac’s LA Clippers, nor for Dario Saric’s new club, the Sacramento Kings, who were defeated on away games in Salt Lake City and Phoenix.
From Clippers were 129-108 better Utah Jazz who at one point in the game had an advantage of as many as 37 points. Three Utah Jazz players scored at least 20 points in the win. Walker Kessler led the Jazz with 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four blocks, while Lauri Markkanen and Brice Sensabaugh each scored 20 points.
Ivica Zubac was the top scorer in the Clippers’ loss at the season opener, he played a little more than 27 minutes and in that time he scored 9/13 from the field 19 points and seven reboundsthree assists and one block. James Harden added 15 points and 11 assists, and Kawhi Leonard added 10 points.
The Jazz shot 55.2% from the field and dished out 38 assists, setting a franchise record for points in a season opener.
It was her Utah’s first season-opening win since 2022-23.

Philadelphia 76ers opened the new season with a victory away from home, they won 117-116 Boston Celticsand until the celebration they were led by Tyrese Maxey with 40 tackles.
Rookie VJ Edgecombe was also great in his NBA debut, finishing with 34 points. Edgecombe, the third pick in this year’s NBA draft, scored the third-most points in an NBA debut of all time and the most since Wilt Chamberlain’s 43 on October 24, 1959. The old Sixers record for most points by a player in his first game was 30, set by Allen Iverson on November 1, 1996 against the Milwaukee Bucks. He also had seven rebounds and three assists. For Boston, Derrick White and Jaylen Brown led the way with 25 points each. The Celtics hit 11 3-pointers from 43 attempts in the game.
San Antonio Spurs won 125-92 Dallas Mavericksand Victor Wembanyama played a great game with 40 points and 15 rebounds.
The victory at the start of the season was also recorded by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who beat the Portland Trail Blazers 118-114. Anthony Edwards was in a good mood, scoring 41 points with seven rebounds in the victory of the visiting team.
Orlando Magic won 125-121 against Miami Heatand Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero led him to victory in the first game of the season with 24 points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 37 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Milwaukee to a season-opening victory over visiting Washington.
New York Knicks were, in the match between the two favorites of the Eastern Conference, with 119-111 better than Cleveland Cavaliersand the Toronto Raptors beat the Atlanta Hawks 138-118 in their first away game this season.
Chicago Bulls at the opening of the season they outplayed Detroit Pistons with 115-111 on the wings of Nikola Vučević, who finished the game with 28 interceptions and 14 rebounds. Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 23 points and 10 assists, while Isaiah Stewart added 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The victory in the first game of the season was recorded by i Charlotte Hornets who beat the visitors 136-117 Brooklyn Nets. Brandon Miller with 25 and LaMelo Ball with 20 points led Charlotte to victory. With the Nets, Nic Claxton was the best with 17 points.
Memphis Grizzlies is with 35 points to win over the visiting team New Orleans 128-122 in the first game of the season for both teams led by Ja Morant. Jaren Jackson Jr. added 18 points, eight rebounds and six blocks.
With the Pelicans, Zion Williamson was the most effective with 27 points and nine rebounds. Three Pelicans players – Jordan Poole, Herbert Jones and rookie Jeremiah Fears scored 17 each.
