As at 31. August 2025. Year, in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina it was 541,921 employeesshow the latest data from the FBiH Tax Administration. Compared to July, when the number of employees was 545,018, a slight decline of 3,097 people were recorded.
Employment reduction was most recorded in the education sector, while growth recorded in the coal and lignite extraction sectors, household transport and pipeline transport, information services and protective and investigative activities.

According to the age structure of employees in the Federation of BiH, 31.6% of employees are people under 35while 68.4% have more than 36 years old. When it comes to gender, 55.82% of employees are mena 44.18% of women.
The data show that Zenica-Doboj Canton remains one of the significant employment centers in the Federation of BiH, with a growing number of employees in the key sectors of the economy, despite a mild reduction in the total number of employees in August.
