Speaking at a press conference in Moscow, Ushakov said that cooperation in the hydrocarbon sector will be discussed in detail with the participation of officials directly involved in related projects, Anadolia reports.
“The details will not be released now, but I believe that the leaders will discuss this topic very thoroughly with the participation of direct representatives involved in all these projects,” he said.
According to Ushakov, Russian oil deliveries to China increased by more than 35 percent in the first quarter of this year.
“In the first quarter of this year, our oil deliveries to Chinese consumers increased by more than 35 percent and reached 31 million tons,” he said.
“Russia is also one of the largest exporters of natural gas to China, including liquefied natural gas,” he added.
Ušakov confirmed that the planned gas pipeline Power of Siberia 2 will also be discussed during the meeting.
“That topic will be discussed in great detail, it is on the agenda,” he said.
The Kremlin aide described energy cooperation as the main driver of bilateral economic relations, especially in the context of tensions in the Middle East.
“The locomotive of economic cooperation is our partnership in the energy sector. In the context of the crisis in the Middle East, Russia continues to maintain its role as a reliable supplier, while China remains a responsible consumer of energy resources,” he said.
Ushakov also said that the trade exchange between Russia and China will reach almost 240 billion dollars in 2025.
“In 2025, trade exchange will reach almost 240 billion dollars, and its structure has expanded to include goods with high added value,” he said.
He added that Russia and China are each other’s important trade partners.
According to him, the transition to settlements in national currencies helped protect bilateral trade from external pressures and instability in global markets.
“Essentially, we have built a stable system of mutual trade that is protected from the influence of third countries and negative trends in global markets,” said Ušakov.
Ushakov also confirmed that Putin will participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek from August 31 to September 1 and in the BRICS summit in New Delhi on September 12 and 13.
“Of course, we continue active cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and together we will mark the 25th anniversary of the SCO this year,” he said.
Speaking about relations with the USA, Ushakov said that the visits of Russian ministers to America were useful, but that they did not bring about a turnaround in bilateral relations.
He added that the Russian government approved the participation of the delegation led by Labor Minister Anton Kotjakov at the conference on the rights of persons with disabilities, which will be held in the USA in June.
