Croatian national team player Ante Budimir scored two goals for Osasuna, who at El Sadar in Pamplona came away with a victory (3-2) against Real Oviedo in the 20th round of the Spanish La Liga.
The visiting team led twice, but both times the Croatian striker brought Osasuna back to balance. Federico Vinas scored the leading goal for Oviedo in the 40th minute. It’s two minutes later Budimir scored a goal that was disallowed due to a previous handball.
But it’s in the 45th minute Ante towered over his guards and headed the ball into the net.
In the 68th minute, Oviedo took the lead again, and the scorer was Alberto Reina.
But in the 75th minute, there was an excellent action by Osasuna with a kick from the heart of the penalty area finished Budimir and thus reached the eighth goal in this La Liga season.
He brought a complete turnaround and victory to Osasuna with a strong and accurate shot Victor Munoz in the second minute of extra time.
With the first win in the new calendar year, Osasuna reached 22 points and temporarily jumped to 11th place. Oviedo is last with 13 points, 20. position.
Leaders Barcelona have 49 points, one more than Real Madrid who beat Levante 2-0 at home on Saturday. Barcelona will play the match of the 20th round on Sunday (21:00), when they will visit Real Sociedad.
