When we think of the guards of time, those who preserve our tradition and cultural heritage, we will advance them as older people in late years that have dedicated more than half of their lifetime. However, in Tešnji – the town on the River Tešajci and Usori, a man without whom time at the Bazaar cares cares is 34-year-old, Adnan Alic. He took the function of the old man of the Sahat Tower a couple of years ago from his wife’s grandfather, Hojkurić Adem.
She for him “represents a relationship between the past and the present.” He says that cheering and preserving the Sahat Tower, he keeps the cultural heritage of his city, the brightness, and contributes to passing that spirit to future generations. “It’s a great honor – but also responsibility,” he admits.
Adnan Alić was born in 1991. in Doboj. He acquired primary education in Tešnj, where he started high school, which he then ended in Sarajevo. During his stay in the capital, he actively trained basketball club “Bosnia”.
After high school, he decides to stay for a while in the capital of our country and enroll in the Faculty of Physical Sports and Education, who graduated from 2014. In the same year, it returns to its end and employs the Mixed High School Tešanj, where currently holds the function of the Assistant Director. At the same time, it is actively involved in the sports life of the municipality as a coach of younger selections in several clubs and today as a coach, KP “Jelah”. He is also the president in the Sports Federation of Disc. As someone who cares for humanity and others, Adnan volunteers in the Red Cross for many years, where he is a member of the Presidency of this municipal organization.
And finally, nothing less important roles and titles, Adnan is the guardian of the Clock Tower, but also the guardian of his two girls and wife Adit.
Tradition of thirteen decades long
Before Adnan, the Hojkurić family held the Clock Tower since 1891. years, and the “Last” man from the vine who has been careful about her is Adem Hojkurić, Grandpa Adnan’s wife. He just taught Adnan.
His wife, Adita Alic, says Adnan liked her grandfather at the first day.
“Adnan liked my grandfather as long as we had fun, because he was extremely clear spirit, positive and always smiled,” she says.
His intense training lasted two months
“During that period, Grandpa closely followed my work and corrects any mistakes,” Adnan explains.
“Adnan was the only” son-in-law from the Bazais, “while I was herself aid in his later years and went to cheer up with me as long as we went to high school. He was not horrible to the hour,” his wife Adita Alic recalls.

He already had to worry who would talk to the Clock Tower every day, we were able to be our daily obligation,” she added.
He says how he is always on the move and works in a strain, “so he is going to the Clock Tower as a compulsory breakfast that must not be skipped.” He explains how working on the Clock Tower takes about 20 minutes.
“At that time I have the task of raising the tenders that drive a clock mechanism, if there is a deviation, and I inspect the mechanism itself – I clean and borrow it if necessary,” Additional Adnan.
He says he tries to go to the tower every day after the school obligations. “I’m trying my best, and that goes well for me, to go to the Clock Tower at 3 pm, immediately after the obligation at school,” he said.
How to become a “magical hero”?
Perform more jobs at the same time Adnan is not a burden, because as it recognizes:
“Everything I do – whether they are professional obligations, social engagements or volunteer work – fills me out and makes happy.” She admits that he is a mixed high school, in which he is a assistant director, “like another house.” “Together with my colleagues, I try to build and promote in the best possible way. We are proud of the fact that we have 967 students to provide the best conditions for education. Special joy We feel when we participate in their maturation, upbringing and life.” He says.
Friends for Adnan say it is primarily a really “good and honest man.

“Sport had a huge impact on my personality formation: He taught me discipline, teamwork, responsibility, and developed my character and attitude towards life and other people,” Adnan says. And the Red Cross Tešanj can always count on Adnan, given that he has been volunteering for years and donates blood to those who need it most.
“During primary and secondary education, I have spent a wonderful year volunteering, adopting the Red Cross. After the end of the faculty, I was given an opportunity to actively involve – and I am happy to do so until today.” Our experience says.
“I am a multiple blood donor and proud winner of numerous recognitions, among which I set a reward for volunteer in the year in 2017. year, which he awarded the Federal Red Cross,” he added. Volunteer of the year, the Guardian Sports, Professor of Sports, Assistant Director, husband, father, friend – a list of functions that Adnan is proud to do it, in a way, “a magic hero.”
Climb above fear
Still, the hero with Tešanja bazaar is not completely fearless. As his friend tells us Mujo Zeničanin, they both have acrophobia – fear of height.
They understood that during a joint trip, and no, in an anecdote, which Zeničanin told us is not mentioned by flying by plane. He recalls trips to Rome and Vatican with Adnan where they climbed on the top of the St. Peter Bazilique.
“Since we were with girls (current wives), we were playing guys, so we climbed the top of the bonnet, but I would like the same problem as he had the same problem, the discomfort grew. “I said Adnan, how will you climb the Clock Tower every day? He said, no freaks are around me. I was immediately easier for me,” Zeničin tells us. “Friendship is like love, it just happens,” Zeničanin says.
“I happened to me, and thank God that is so. We are a colleague game, so I can say about Adnan that he is also very serious and professional as a colleague,” he concludes.
When you next time you pass the Tešanja bazchie and see the tower, remember that it is not an independent watch that is magically accurate every day. Behind the big, high walls, Alic Adnan, he preserves her, cheer her watch every day, clean it and lubricates and thus does not allow the tradition to die. A man whose contribution is available and sensitive in many sectors of the Tešani municipality. A man who is not afraid of responsibilities though, as friends say, he has a fear of height – all his roles performed with dedication, and most importantly, with immense love.
