Eight people who are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of human trafficking related to exploitation two minor girls born in 2009 for the purpose of prostitution, among which are four officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, TKwere submitted to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of TK.
The order to conduct an investigation for this criminal offense was issued against the following police officers: Besim Kopić (51), Miralem Halilović (46), Jasmin Modrić (30) and Dževad Požegić (55), and against four other suspects – Šemsudin Kadrić (39), Zijad Jagodić (61), Sulejman Šehić (67) and Nedim Avdić (41).
They will be questioned about these circumstances, and the Prosecutor’s Office, most likely for all 8 suspects, will submit a proposal to the Tuzla Cantonal Court for custody.
˝Kopić, Kadrić, Halilović, Modrić and Šehić are suspected of having recruited between April 2024 and the end of July 2025, alleged, transported to different locations in the area of Kalesija, Živinica and Srebrenik, handed over to other persons and hid two fifteen-year-old girls for the purpose of exploitation through prostitution and other forms of sexual exploitation, and they also used their sexual services for which they were paid. Part of the money from the sexual services, which the girls were forced to have with other people, was taken by the first suspect, Besim Kopić.˝, said the spokesman of the TK Prosecutor’s Office, Admir Arnautović.
According to him, Jagodić, Požegić and Avdić are suspected of having used their sexual services and paid them for it in the mentioned period, even though they were aware that the girls were minors and victims of human trafficking.
˝These are two girls whose development was hampered by difficult family circumstances and who were placed in social institutions in the Tuzla area, as well as the shelter of the Home for Children without Parental Care Tuzla, from where they ran away several times and were returned by police officers and centers for social work. The suspects took advantage of their escape from institutions and their state of helplessness in order to recruit them and lead them into prostitution and use their sexual services, Arnautović said.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Tuzla Canton, in cooperation with the investigators of the Criminal Police Sector-Department for Combating Organized and Computer Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, conducted several months of investigation and worked on documenting these crimes.
Suspects were detained after searches at several locations in Kalesija, Živinice and Banovići. A criminal investigation was carried out against them and they were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office along with a report on the crime committed.
For the criminal offense -Human trafficking- from Article 210.a paragraph 2 CC FBiH (who recruits, induces, transports, hands over, hides or receives a person who has not reached the age of 18 for the purpose of exploitation through prostitution or other forms of sexual exploitation) a prison sentence of at least 10 years is prohibited..
The Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton continues its investigation in this case.
