Regarding the statement of the University of Zenica, published on 18. July 2025. year, the Press Service of the Zenica-Doboj Canton is obliged to react for the purpose of the public and eliminating obvious misinformation expressed in the mentioned address.
This is terrible what is happening and what irresponsible individuals continue with abusing the Institution of the University of Zenica, false represent, violate the law and deceive the public. The damage they caused by the University of Zenica and the entire Zenica-Doboj Canton is immeasurable, and their occupation in criminal actions is still unemployed in our canton.
First of all, the measure made by the Municipal Court in Zenica refers exclusively to the realization of the wage payment orders signed by the rectors, as functions – not on the personal name prof. dr. Jusuf Durakovic, as the Tendencico and misinterpreted in the university statement. The court did not determine or decided on the legality of dismissal prof. Duraković, nor about his status as a rector – it was not the subject of decision-making.
It is important to emphasize that prof. dr. Jusuf Durakovic previously dismissed from the Rector’s position by decision by the competent Board of Directors of the University, with the fact that in the meantime, the mandate was formally expired. Therefore, its public representation is inappropriately and legally unfounded as a lawful and legitimate rector of the University. In addition, Mr. Duraković is currently staying without a legal basis in the official premises of the Rectorate, as there is no valid employment contract that would confirm his status.
The Court issued a temporary measure exclusively with the aim of insurance payments of salaries, not entering the merits of the dispute or in the assessment of the legality of the Senate or Management Board. This measure, therefore, exclusively relations of the Government of the ZDK and the Ministry of Finance, and in no way affects legal relations within the University or can be interpreted as the legality of the effects of certain individuals.
We especially warn of the harmful practice of untrue public information and attempts to create an illusion of a judicial judgment that does not exist in this case. We emphasize that it is a temporary extent and that the final solution to this issue is only up to, in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.
Also, we are reminded that the University Senate is obliged to respect the legal procedures and launch the degree of responsibility, in order to prevent further legal and institutional consequences, and avoid the violation of the University.
The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton remains attached to respect for legality, the protection of the public interest and the transparent work of all institutions, including the University of Zenica.
