The International Judo Federation announced today that Russian judokas have been restored the right to participate in international competitions under the colors of their flag and with their national anthem.
This decision, the first of its kind by any sports federation towards Russia since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in 2022, takes effect from the competition in Dubai, which starts on Friday.
The Russian Judo Federation welcomed “this historic decision”.
“We thank the International Judo Federation for this long-awaited, fair and courageous decision,” said the president of the Russian Federation, Sergei Soloveitchik.
