After defeating Sloga 1:0 in the first game of the spring championship in Mostar last Friday and thus coming within a point of the leading Borc, Zrinjski players will be back on the field this Tuesday.
In Mostar, in the round of 16 of the BiH Cup, a lower league team from Olov, Stupčanica, is coming to Mostar, which coach Igor Štimac takes very seriously, first of all in light of the fact that it will be a kind of warm-up for the first visit to Borc, which awaits at the weekend.
– We are one point behind Borac, but also, in a few days we have a derby in Banja Luka, so we have no choice but to continue our work completely calmly and modestly. Let’s go with seriousness, we want to play the game against Stupčanica, refresh a good part of the players who won three points against Sloga, and we hope to be ready for the game against Borac – said Štimac.
Looking back at the winning start of the second part of the season, he added that it was very important to ‘open the cycle of nine games in 27 days with a victory’ and expressed the hope that after the weekend the points difference compared to Borac will remain the same in the worst case.
The round of 16 program of the BiH Cup begins on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. when GOŠK and Rudar Prijedor meet, after which, before the match in Mostar, the match between Sloga and Derventa will follow (3:30 p.m.).
On Wednesday, Radnik – Bijeljina Kruševo (3:30 p.m.), Čelik – Sarajevo (6:00 p.m.) and Velež – Široki Brijeg (8:30 p.m.) will meet, and the Round of 16 program will close on Thursday with the games Famos – Laktaši (1:00 p.m.) and Željezničar – Slavija (6:00 p.m.).
