Addressing Kallas in the hall of the European Parliament on Tuesday, the Podemos MP condemned Israel’s actions in the Mediterranean and accused European leaders of remaining silent.
“Israel has been in the middle of the Mediterranean for 24 hours and, imagine, hijacking ships and kidnapping European citizens,” Montero said.
“It’s funny to you, isn’t it? It’s not funny to me at all,” she said, asking, “Will you ever do something to protect them?”
Montero then asked how the European Union would react if another country did the same.
“What would you do if it was Iran, if it was Russia that was kidnapping European citizens in the middle of the Mediterranean?”, she asked.
“But since it’s Israel, you just smile and turn your head. Shame on you.”

Later, Montero shared a video of her speech on the X social network, accusing the European Union of helping, as she stated, “genocidal structures”.
“Israel attacks and hijacks ships loaded with aid to Gaza in the middle of the Mediterranean, and this lady finds it ridiculous and does nothing to protect the hijacked people,” she wrote.
“They help genocidal criminals and they don’t even hide it anymore.”
The Global Sumud humanitarian flotilla said on Tuesday that Israel had seized all 50 vessels from a humanitarian aid convoy to Gaza.
