The Slovenian national team won the first gold medal at the current Olympic Games, winning in the team competition in ski jumping and thus achieving one of the greatest successes in the history of Slovenian winter sports.
The Slovenian team entered the finals as the main favorite, which it fully justified with safe and consistent performances. The team consisting of Nika Vodan, Anže Lanišek, Nika Prevc and Domen Prevc showed the greatest stability during the entire competition and in the end deservedly reached the best medal.

Slovenia won with a total of 1,069.2 points, leaving behind the strong selections of Norway and Japan. The Norwegians won the silver medal with 1,038.3 points, while Japan took third place with 1,034.0 points, in an extremely uncertain battle for the podium.
The biggest individual contribution to the Slovenian success was made by Anže Lanišek, who collected 142 points, while Domen Prevc was very close with a performance of 141.5 points. Nika Prevc added 132.7 points, and Nika Vodan 126.1, rounding off the dominant team performance.
This is also the second medal for Slovenia at these Olympic Games, after Nika Prevc previously won silver. The Slovenian national team now enters the continuation of the competition with additional confidence, where more battles for medals are expected.
New opportunities for honors are coming soon, considering that Domen Prevc is among the main favorites on the big ski jump, while together with Lanišek, he will lead the Slovenian team in the next team competition.
