According to Sky Sport, Leverkusen does not plan to activate the purchase option during the winter transfer window, which is why Alajbegović will spend the spring part of the season in Austria.
The contract of the young footballer, which is valid until the summer of 2026, contains a fixed purchase clause in the amount of eight million euros, and Leverkusen will consider his possible return after the end of the season.
Alajbegović left Leverkusen last summer and moved to Salzburg for two million euros, signing a contract until 2029.
The player himself recently announced about everything, confirming that he will stay in Salzburg at least until the summer.
“I’m in Salzburg until the summer. Leverkusen will certainly activate the clause and sign me,” said Alajbegović.
