It was the 60th Super Bowl and a kind of replay of the final from 2015, when the Patriots celebrated after a big drama.
The placement of Seattle and New England in the finals was a surprise, considering that they were not considered the main favorites. However, both teams finished the regular season with a record of 14 wins and three losses, and they reached the Super Bowl mostly thanks to strong defenses. Such a balance of power was also seen in the final in front of around 70,000 spectators.
In the first half, head coaches Mike Macdonald and Mike Vrabel failed to launch their team’s attacks, so the defense completely dominated. The only points in that part of the meeting were scored by Seattle kicker Jason Myers, who hit three field goals. There were no touchdowns, and the Seahawks came closest, but Sam Darnold’s pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba was blocked by Christian Gonzalez.

More points were seen at the end of the match. The Patriots managed to score two touchdowns, but a number of mistakes, including an intercepted pass and a turnover, ended their comeback hopes. Myers set a Super Bowl record with five field goals.
The final blow to the Patriots was delivered by Uchenna Nwosa, who returned the ball for a touchdown after a fumble by Drake Maye. By the end of the match, Rhamondre Stevenson alleviated the defeat of New England, setting the final 29:13.
The Seattle Seahawks thus reached a new NFL championship, crowning a season in which defense and discipline were the keys to their success.
