The Minister of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Samir Šibonjić, held a working meeting with the President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Diana Babić, and colleagues, where they discussed the continuation of the “Buy local – let’s strengthen Bosnia and Herzegovina” campaign.
The campaign to support domestic companies and workers is carried out through a project to promote the domestic economy, production and products.
– This is the first time that we give concrete support to the idea of ”buy local” in an institutional way. It is extremely important that we all stand by domestic producers, companies and workers who are struggling on the market every day. They directly contribute to the strengthening of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I am very grateful to them for that. By purchasing domestic quality products together with entrepreneurs and workers, we contribute to the growth and development of our economy, strengthening the standards of employees and creating realistic assumptions for higher pensions, better health and education. Because without economic independence, there is no stable and strong state – said Minister Šibonjić.
The Ministry of Economy of ZDK, as the initiator of the project and the insurer of funds, implements the campaign in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of ZDK.
This program once again confirms the determination of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Ministry of Economy to jointly contribute to the improvement of the business environment, competitiveness of the domestic economy, employment and economic development of the Canton.
The activities are carried out under the slogan “Buy local – let’s strengthen Bosnia and Herzegovina”, with the aim of increasing awareness of the importance of supporting domestic production, promoting local producers and improving the competitiveness of economic entities in ZDK.
During the meeting, they discussed the implementation of the next program activity, which will take place on November 20, 2025 in Zenica City Center. It is planned to promote domestic products and producers at the event through direct interaction with consumers and to remind them of the importance of buying domestic products.
Project participants invited the citizens to visit the exhibition stands in Zenica City Center on November 20 from 10:00 to 14:00 and with their presence support domestic producers and contribute to the promotion and strengthening of the domestic economy.
