Nezir Pivić Prime Minister Nezir Pivić was in the official visit to Katar, where in the capital of Doha held representatives of Qatar State Institutions, Development Funds and Investigations and Opening of New Development Opportunities for Zenica-Doboj Canton.
Prime Minister Pivic met with HE Maryam Bint Ali Al Msnad, State Minister for International Cooperation, and expressed gratitude for the continued support of Qatar projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Support for projects to improve water supply systems in the municipality of Breza, which is part of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
He also met with N.E. Fahadom Bin Hamad Al Sulaiti, General Manager of the Qatar Fund for Development – QFFD). The Qatar Development Fund will set aside $ 5 million for infrastructure projects in Bužim, Fojnica and Birch municipalities, with more than half of that amount to be invested in Birch. These funds will enable the replacement of dilapidated asbestos water installations and improve safe and quality water supply for a large number of households.
Prime Minister Nezir Pivić referred special gratitude to the former foreign minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Pearls, who emphasized, played a key role in the initiation of this project, as well as the management of the local communities in BiH.
– I thank the Qatar Fund for Development on Friendly and Strategic Support provided by Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am especially proud that the municipality of Breza from our canton is part of this important project that will directly improve the quality of life of our citizens – said Prime Minister Pivić.
As part of the visit, the Prime Minister also presented strategic development projects of Zenica-Doboj Canton, including the project of the construction of the new Zenica Cantonal Hospital. It is an investment in more than 300 million euros, which provides for the construction of a modern health facility with over 800 beds.
– Construction of the new Cantonal Hospital Zenica is a zero priority of our government and a generational project of public interest for the entire canton – Pivić explained.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Qatar continuously strongly through cooperation on specific projects, and that this visit is another confirmation of mutual trust and partnership.
– Bosnia and Herzegovina and State Qatar for many years are building relationships of mutual trust and partnership. This visit is a confirmation of these friendly connections and opens the door for new projects that will contribute to the betterment of our citizens – said Prime Minister Pivić.
