Trene Muhamed Pašalić had reason to be happy after the match, but also criticized his team for the poor performance in the first half:
“We had two completely different halves. In the first, we were executed, we didn’t get the rhythm and allowed the Spartak team to run away, and if I’m not mistaken, they had nine or ten three-pointers at halftime. In the second half, we came out with a completely different energy. We realized that without defense we can’t play – not only against Spartak, which is an extremely good team, but also against any opponent. Defense is our key factor and I insist on it the most. When we we fixed that, we opened up in attack as well. I congratulate my players for their great heart and character, as well as the entire professional staff. Thank you to the audience for their fair and correct cheering.”
Spartak coach Vlada Jovanić said:
“I congratulate the Bosnia team on the victory and thank the crowd. As for my guys and our game, I don’t have much to add. The numbers speak for themselves – 14 assists in the first half, and only six in the second half. I don’t know exactly how many points we received from transition, nor how many offensive rebounds we allowed. There were too many things that didn’t work, especially in the second half and already at the end of the second quarter.”
