The Palestinian Resistance Committee (PRC), a faction close to Hamas, said today that one of its local military commanders was killed by Israeli special forces near the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
The group announced that Wasem Abdel-Hadi, the commander of their armed wing, was killed in a “cowardly and insidious assassination operation”.
The PRC alleges that Abdel-Hadi played a significant role in the development of the organization’s military wing. The group did not issue any direct threat of retaliation.
Israel has not commented on these allegations.
Gaza’s health ministry said at least 268 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the ceasefire began.
Israeli authorities say factions close to Hamas killed three Israeli soldiers in the same period.
