Employees of the National and University Library (NUB) of Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the Elementary School “Prača” in Praca with the aim of strengthening cooperation and support to educational institutions through books.
The school library thus is a valuable donation of books that includes titles from children’s literature, reading, as well as the manuals intended for teachers and pedagogical staff, NUB BiH announced.
Donated fund aims to enrich library resources and encourage readership habits among students.
Jašarević School Director expressed satisfaction due to the expansion of the Library Fund donated to the books, pointing out that it would improve teaching and extracurricular activities. She also emphasized that the Library of the Elementary School “Prača” has a public character, because next to the students are open for all citizens of the municipality that want to read and use available literature. During the visit, the school principal, teachers and librarians discussed the library’s employees about the importance of reading literacy in students, the importance of available and quality literature and the role of the school library as the center of knowledge and culture within the local community.
The activity is part of a broader mission of the National and University Library of BiH, which strives to build a strong network of cooperation with educational institutions across the country, with a special focus on reading promotion and equal to the statement.
