Although the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a discussion, it did not adopt any concrete measures to help overcome the difficult situation at BHRT.
Due to the lack of an entity majority, the proposed conclusions of the Committee for Traffic and Communications of the House of Representatives of the PSBiH regarding the operations of BHRT were sent to the House Collegium for approval.
In conclusion, it is requested that the House of Representatives of PSBiH instructs the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to allocate funds from the funds of the current budget reserve of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the payment of the debt of BHRT to Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina and “Sarajevo Gas” in the amount of 1,655,000 KM.
At the same time, the conclusion stipulated that the PSBiH House of Representatives requests the Council of the Communications Regulatory Agency of BiH to act on the conclusion of the 29th session of the House of Representatives, that is, to submit to the parliamentary procedure as soon as possible a Proposal for a decision on the amount of the RTV fee.
The procedure dictates that the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has three days to complete the reconciliation, after which it will submit its report to that legislative body for confirmation.
This means that this topic will be discussed again only at the next session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
BHRT needs urgent financial help, because if it does not happen, the end of the public media service of Bosnia and Herzegovina is certain in a very short period of time, according to the latest letter from the acting general director of BHRT, Belmin Karamehmedović, delivered to the Presidency, the Council of Ministers, the Parliamentary Assembly, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH, the Government of FBiH, and international organizations.
– Although we have repeatedly informed you of the extremely difficult situation in which BHRT finds itself, this time due to the overall publicity and possible consequences, we are introducing you to new facts that will potentially lead to the blocking of accounts and the seizure of movable and immovable assets of BHRT, a public company established by the Parliament of BiH. We note that all the previous warnings did not cause any concrete reaction and help from any of the addresses to which they were sent, Karamehmedović states.
He states that he is drawing special attention to the certain possibility of manual blockade which is being considered in the Directorate for Indirect Taxation of BiH due to the debt of BHRT for VAT in the amount of 9,604,823 KM.
– If this blockade occurs, because BHRT does not have the possibility to settle its obligations on the basis of VAT, it is very possible that this is the last letter of this kind in which we unsuccessfully try to arouse interest and animate institutions that can (should) help BHRT to do something concrete so that the public service does not stop working in the eightieth year of its existence, warns Karamehmedović.
Before the debate at the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, a protest gathering of BHRT employees was held in front of the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH yesterday, as well as an extraordinary program dedicated to the catastrophic situation at BHRT called “Don’t shut down BHRT”.
By the way, in the new budget proposal of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the proposal of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the item related to the provision of 22 million KM intended for the rehabilitation of the debt of BHRT was deleted, it says Free Bosnia.
