Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn won the title of Olympic winner in the 20 kilometer biathlon race at the Winter Olympic Games in Anterselva.
At his first Olympic Games, the 26-year-old Norwegian won gold in the longest individual race in the biathlon program. He covered the 20-kilometer course in 51:31.5, without missing a single target.
Silver went to Frenchman Eric Perrot, the current leader in the World Cup, who received a penalty minute for a mistake that was crucial to the outcome of the race. In the end, the Frenchman was 14.8 seconds behind.
The Norwegian Sturla Holm Laegreid took the bronze with +48.3 less time than the winner.
