Netanyahu said Iran was “not the same” after nearly two weeks of bombing and that Tehran had suffered heavy blows aimed at the elite Revolutionary Guard and Basij paramilitary forces.
Netanyahu also said that some of the Israeli strikes killed leading Iranian nuclear scientists. He added that Israel intends to prevent Iran from moving its nuclear and ballistic projects underground.
Israel’s leader vowed to continue strikes against Hezbollah after the Iran-backed group opened fire on March 2 to avenge the US-Israeli assassination of Iran’s supreme leader at the start of the war. Asked what steps Israel might take against Iran’s new Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem, Netanyahu responded with a veiled threat.
“I wouldn’t issue life insurance policies for any leader of a terrorist organization. I’m not going to say here exactly what we’re planning or what we’re going to do,” he said, adding that Tehran and Hezbollah no longer pose the same threat they once did.
The Israeli Prime Minister also referred to the possibility of regime change in Iran. He said that Israel can create the conditions for that, but it is up to the Iranian people to take to the streets. “At the end of the day, it depends on you. It’s in your hands,” he told them, reports Index.hr.
