At the proposal of the Ministry of Health of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton adopted changes to the program of expenditure of funds for the Institute of Occupational Medicine and Sports Medicine at the current session. With the changes, the planned funds are increased by 200,000 KM in the Current transfer position for the Cantonal Institute for Occupational Medicine and Sports Medicine, with the aim of strengthening support to the health institution and ensuring additional assistance in the implementation of their regular and development activities. The transfer of funds to the Institute of Occupational Medicine and Sports Medicine of the Zenica-Doboj Canton will be carried out in accordance with the Decision of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton on the approval of funds.
The ZDK Government, on the proposal of the Ministry of Health, passed the Decision on approving funds to the Zenica Cantonal Hospital in the amount of 298,655.71 KM to cover VAT costs. The funds refer to the implementation of the project “Improving energy efficiency in the Zenica Cantonal Hospital”, which ensures the smooth continuation of activities on improving the infrastructure and energy sustainability of the largest health institution in the Canton.
An amendment to the Ministry of Health’s spending program on the position “Capital transfers to other levels of government – for health” was also proposed, since the planned funds in the amount of 300,000.00 KM, intended for the preparation of a conceptual project with a feasibility study for the construction of a new facility of the Cantonal Hospital, cannot be realized until the end of 2025 due to the impossibility of completing the public procurement procedure. In this regard, it was suggested that the funds be diverted to the purchase of medical equipment that the hospital needs for the smooth performance of health services, namely: an automatic separator for transfusion, a microspeed device for craniotomy, a typanometer-audiometer, autoclaves, a microscope for the Department of Pathology, and an operating lamp. The Ministry of Health assessed that, in addition to the fact that the total amount of planned capital funds for the hospital does not change, and in order to achieve the maximum utilization of budget funds and improve the quality of health services, an amendment to the Fund Spending Program can be approved.
